Job Summary
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair all designated Varian Medical Systems equipment within an assigned service territory, including preventative maintenance, installations, and upgrades per company guidelines. Manage time to prioritize incoming customer calls and escalate incidents when necessary, while maintaining strong relationships with customers, sales, and technical support teams. Examine difficult customer issues, resolve simple imaging system defects, and perform routine maintenance on major systems. Submit timely field service and expense reports and manage consignment documentation according to VMS procedures. Achieve certification status for C3 products and meet all vendor credentialing requirements for client site access.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum: HS Degree or Equivalent
- Valid driver's license in the state they reside
- No prior DUI/DWI convictions or pending DUI/DWI charges or other serious moving violations (unless such a restriction is prohibited by state/local law)
- Legally authorized for employment in the United States
- No employer sponsored work authorization required now or in the future
- Ability to work with controlled technology in accordance with US export control law
- Sound knowledge of and professional experience with electronic and electro-mechanical engineering
- Sound knowledge of and professional technical experience with micro-computers/PC based systems
- Sound computer usage and debugging skills
- Ability to identify and repair routine software and delivery system network problems
- Ability to identify and resolve simple imaging system defects
- Proficient at diagnosing and solving moderately complex mechanical problems
- Able to perform vacuum system gun replacements and target replacements
- Achieve certification status for C3 products
- Meets all Vendor Credentialing requirements necessary to gain VMS client site access
- Proof of valid identification (photo, driver's license, SSN)

- Associate degree, technical /vocational training or military experience with electronics and 2 – 5 years of related experience
- Able to handle difficult customer situations including troubleshooting while the customer is observing
- Is assigned as primary support for machine accounts for which certification has been completed
- Be able to understand and utilize the escalation process to Sr FSR, Management, NTS, PSE
- Familiar with business tools such as E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experience with HCM (e.g., Workday) or equivalent ERP product and productivity software
- Note: Candidate must live within close proximity or be willing to relocate to Columbus, OH
- This is a field based 'remote' position that requires onsite work at several local customer locations
- Must have full access to Siemens Healthineers' client sites to perform the essential functions of this position
- Must continue to meet Vendor Credentialing requirements during the course of employment
