Field Service Engineer

Job Summary
Field Service Engineer responsible for traveling to customer sites to install, maintain, and troubleshoot Atlas Copco IAS systems and related equipment (including Henrob Self-Pierce Riveting, SCA Dispensing, K-Flow Flow Drill, and machine vision systems). Tasks include diagnosing electrical and control-system issues, fault isolation, and on-site/customer support by phone or email; providing guidance to optimize equipment and software usage; conducting site inspections and recommending performance improvements; creating and maintaining detailed service reports and updating internal databases; collaborating with internal teams to ensure complete issue resolution; reviewing warranty claims with supporting data; and training customers and internal personnel on equipment operation and maintenance. The role centers near the GM Detroit Factory Zero Site with substantial travel to customer sites, and emphasizes effective communication, problem solving, documentation, and a customer-focused approach.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational certification in a related field preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience with troubleshooting/resolving field equipment issues.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Field Service Technician or a similar role in the Manufacturing industry.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical and electrical drawings.
- PC and MS Office proficiency
- Proven experience in electrical troubleshooting and control systems troubleshooting.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively in writing
