Field Service Engineer

Job Summary

Perform on-time preventative maintenance, troubleshoot equipment, and execute repairs across designated modalities while following field modification instructions. Assist experienced engineers with installations and partner with customers to drive satisfaction through service excellence and value-added recommendations. Maintain service logs, order parts, and manage cycle times using the GEHC escalation process to resolve critical issues. Engage commercial counterparts to identify sales leads and promote revenue programs for key accounts. Answer service calls independently within the first year and comply with all quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
  • Equivalent military education
  • Participant in the formal GEHC Biomed/FE Services Internship, Apprenticeship or Military Externship program
  • High School Diploma/GED and a minimum 4 years of experience servicing electronic equipment
  • Experience with Web applications
  • Experience with Microsoft suite of products
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Willingness to be available after hours
  • Willingness to work a rotating On-Call schedule
  • Willingness to work weekends
  • Compliance with GEHC's standard background check
  • Compliance with post-offer drug test
  • Compliance with customer access policies
  • Proof of required immunizations
  • Compliance with additional drug tests
  • Compliance with background checks (including federal government background check if assigned to support a contract with the federal government)
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 lbs unassisted
  • Ability to frequently bend, stoop, twist, climb, crouch/squat, kneel/crawl, sit and stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to reach at, above and below shoulder level
  • Ability to flex/extend neck
  • Good hand and finger dexterity
  • Specific vision abilities including color, close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception
  • Willingness to work onsite at our customer locations in the Lubbock, TX and Midland, TX areas
