Field Service Engineer – Gas Analysis Systems & Aftermarket Growth

Job Summary

Conduct complex installations, commissioning, and troubleshooting for gas analyzers, sample handling systems, and instrumentation at customer sites and in-house locations. Perform Factory and Site Acceptance Testing, startup activities, and post-installation verification to ensure system readiness. Interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and technical manuals to diagnose issues, while preparing accurate service, calibration, and failure analysis reports. Serve as a trusted technical advisor by identifying reliability risks and upgrade opportunities, then promote preventive maintenance agreements, calibration programs, and spare parts to drive aftermarket revenue. Partner with sales teams to develop technical scopes and quotations, capture CRM leads, and provide training to customers and internal teams. Execute all work adhering to OSHA-aligned safety standards and regulatory requirements, maintaining strict discipline in documentation and inventory coordination. Requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering, 3–7 years of field experience, and extensive U.S. travel.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Mechatronics, or a closely related technical discipline
  • Typically 3–7 years of experience in field service, commissioning, technical support, instrumentation, process analyzers, or related industrial equipment environments
  • Strong working knowledge of electronics, industrial instrumentation, calibration principles, and electrical fault finding
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in customer-facing environments with a high level of professionalism, judgment, and accountability
  • Proficiency in reading schematics, technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and process documentation
  • Valid U.S. driver's license
  • Ability to travel extensively within the United States

Desired Qualifications

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and service documentation systems
  • Experience with SAP, ERP, CRM, or Salesforce
  • Experience supporting analytical instrumentation, gas analyzers, laser-based measurement technologies, process control equipment, or related systems
  • Industry exposure in oil & gas, industrial gases, chemical processing, power generation, cement, food processing, or other regulated industrial sectors
  • Experience with PLCs, HMI/SCADA interfaces, digital diagnostics, or commissioning support for integrated systems
  • Lean, continuous improvement, or Six Sigma exposure with demonstrated focus on service productivity and customer value creation
  • Commercial awareness and prior experience influencing service sales, maintenance contract renewals, or upgrade recommendations
