Field Service Engineer I at Caterpillar Electric Power Division delivering technical expertise for field startups, warranty handling, remedial repairs, and preventative maintenance contracts on generator paralleling controls and switchgear within an assigned US territory. Responsibilities include startup, preventative maintenance, testing, repair, and advanced electrical services; high levels of customer satisfaction; on-call support; training internal technicians and external customers; documenting reports and data; staying current on systems and technologies; collaborating with PSC; and identifying improvement opportunities. Requires working knowledge of power systems, PLC/HMI automation, and ability to read electrical schematics. Travel up to 75% within the US; remote-based role with relocation assistance available.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Electrical Engineering Technology (BSEET) or equivalent
- 3 years of relevant industry experience (optional alternative)
