Job Summary
Field Services Engineer for Defense and Aerospace at Teradyne: travel to customer sites to perform preventive maintenance procedures, system level repairs, system installation, and acceptance testing of Teradyne Defense and Aerospace Test Systems (S9100, SpectrumHS, SpectrumBT Tester, High Speed SubSystem, Tempo); interface with internal support teams; provide technical support on-site or via phone/email; identify issues requiring escalation; make recommendations to improve tester uptime and performance; participate in cost reduction and productivity improvement programs; align procedures with customer needs; requires ability to travel frequently and maintain security clearance. Proficiency in C/C++/Visual Basic 5, knowledge of Siemens PLCs and automation tools is preferred; degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering is preferred; visa sponsorship not available.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years’ test/product service engineering experience
- Must be able to maintain requirements for a secure clearance
- Must be able to accommodate travel requirements for the job – travel will be required most weeks (75%+)
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in field service engineering for defense or aerospace
- Experience with Teradyne or other automated test equipment (ATE) platforms
- Proficiency in C, C++, or Visual Basic 5
- Electrical/Electronics engineering degree (preferred)
- Siemens PLC programming experience (preferred)
- Knowledge of testing software and automation tools (TIA Portal, Step 7)
- Ability to obtain/maintain security clearance
- Willingness to travel 75%+
- Ability to lift and carry 25-50 lbs
- US citizenship or eligible for ITAR restrictions
