Job Summary
Field Service Engineer role based in Queensland, delivering on-site support across Queensland for BD Biosciences instruments used in life sciences and clinical settings. Responsibilities include installing, commissioning and training customers on instruments; performing maintenance, fault diagnosis, repair and performance testing; providing phone-based troubleshooting; maintaining service records; collaborating with Account Managers and Technical Specialists to identify upgrade opportunities; managing service parts and equipment movement; assessing product performance and reporting issues; preparing repair quotations and identifying opportunities for service contracts; ensuring all activities comply with the BD Quality Management System. The role is hands-on, customer-facing, and involves working with precision equipment used in flow cytometry, life sciences research and clinical diagnostics, with travel across Victoria and interstate as required.
Required Qualifications
- Qualification in electronics, engineering, biomedical engineering, mechatronics or similar (Cert, Diploma or Degree)
- 5+ years’ experience servicing life science, laboratory or clinical instrumentation (flow cytometry highly regarded)
- Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, electronics, software and networking
- Confidence configuring applications, operating systems, updates and upgrades
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to travel across Victoria and interstate as required
- Experience in scientific instrumentation, lab automation, imaging systems, diagnostics or high‐spec machinery will be highly valued
