Job Summary
Field Service Engineer for automation projects, with a strong emphasis on travel across North America and on-site work. You will support data center startups by performing mechanical, electrical, and control checks, lead startup and acceptance testing for warehouse fulfillment and manufacturing systems, and collaborate with automation and controls engineers to test and validate systems on-site. Role requires traveling on rotation schedules (e.g., 5 on–2 off, 10 on–4 off, 14 on–7 off), working directly with customers, and providing clear updates to project teams. Training is provided (four weeks) to prepare technically skilled individuals in electrical systems, programming, and networking. You should have a basic foundation in electrical systems and networking, a willingness to travel, and strong communication and problem-solving skills. The position is based in the US with the candidate living within 50 miles of a major airport; relocation assistance available and a technical background in electrical/mechanical/automation engineering is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Technical degree or 3+ years hands-on experience in electrical, mechanical, or automation engineering
- Working knowledge of electrical systems, programming, and communication networking
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Must live within 50 miles of a major airport (relocation assistance available)
- Personal vehicle within 45 days of employment (for local projects)
- Ability to travel; willingness to be away from home on rotation
- Ability to perform on-site mechanical, electrical, and control checks
- Experience with startup, checkout, and acceptance testing for automation systems
