Job Summary
Field Service Apprentice at Weiss Technik North America trains to diagnose, repair and calibrate cascade refrigeration and electrical systems on Weiss Technik environmental test chambers. Learn through a defined training program with checkpoints every 90 days, maintain a clean workspace and organized service vehicle, and assist with installations and service. Training occurs at the Cincinnati, OH facility and the Grand Rapids, MI corporate office for up to 12 months, leading to potential independent deployment as a Field Service Technician with up to 50% travel across North America. Responsibilities include using hand and power tools, calibration equipment, refrigeration gauges and evacuators, documenting field activities, and supporting customer satisfaction. The role requires reading test reports, prioritizing workloads, operating forklift, understanding SOPs/FDA/GMPs, and gaining knowledge in CRM and Visual Manufacturing systems, Windows OS, and MS Office suite. Travel and in-field service across North America and Worldwide when required; training to last up to two years.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED or comparable experience
- Must be able to read and understand SOPs and FDA/GMPs
- Willing to travel up to 2 weeks per month as required
- Must be able to drive a forklift
- Able to perform simple math functions
- Able to read measuring instruments
- Must be willing to provide basic tools required for the position
- Ability to understand shop pick lists and travel related to job and report time
- Work in an office environment or travel up to 2 weeks per month as required
- Teamwork and effective communication with customers
