Field Service Diesel Mechanic - Evansville

Job Summary
Service, inspect, repair, and track systems including diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical, cooling, steering, and hydraulic components on heavy-duty trucks, trailers, forklifts, and pickups. Conduct routine maintenance on equipment and utilize diagnostic tools to troubleshoot mechanical problems and improve engine efficiency. Prioritize work orders, maintain safety protocols, and service records using fleet maintenance software while consulting with field employees. Perform preventative maintenance training for crews and manage expense reporting. Available for 8- to 10-hour shifts, overtime, and weekend callouts across Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Georgia.
Required Qualifications
- Clear, valid driver's license
- Authorized to work in the United States
- High school diploma
- Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in automotive/diesel services
- Must be able to perform duties on shifts throughout a standard 8- or 10-hour day
- Must be available for emergency callout including holidays and weekends or work call outs
- Must pass pre-employment screening (Substance screening and background check, Motor Vehicle Record Check (MVR) and/or DOT Compliance screenings)
- English is required
- Must be able to lift over 50 pounds
- Must be able to bend
- Must be able to twist
- Must be able to squat
- Must have fine motor skills
- Must be able to work in the heat and cold (non-climate controlled) setting
Desired Qualifications
- CDL A or B
- Associates degree or certification in diesel technology
- Continued education needs to be demonstrated
- Bilingual in Spanish
- Willing to invest in your growth by preparing and meeting timely goals to obtain CDL B permit and perform the assignments to satisfy the DOT requirements for CDL B
- Must be able to prioritize work orders/repairs according to importance
- Strong problem-solving skills
- High-level mechanical aptitude
- Excellent oral and written skills
- High level of customer service focusing on maintenance communication, providing preventative maintenance training to the field staff
