Job Summary
Conduct inspections, maintenance, and repairs on heavy-duty diesel engines, transmissions, brake systems, and hydraulic components for trucks, trailers, and tree service equipment across Kentucky, Tennessee, and Georgia. Utilize diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot mechanical problems, prioritize work orders, and maintain service records using fleet maintenance software. Perform preventative maintenance on tractors and standard equipment, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and DOT requirements. Maintain systems for receipt and invoice management to facilitate accurate expense reporting. Read technical manuals, write reports, and provide preventative maintenance training to field staff. Available for emergency callouts, holidays, weekends, and overtime to support the utility line clearance fleet.
Required Qualifications
- Clear, valid driver's license
- Authorized to work in the United States
- High school diploma
- Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in automotive/diesel services
- Must be able to perform duties on shifts throughout a standard 8- or 10-hour day
- Must be available for emergency callout including holidays and weekends or work call outs
- Must pass pre-employment screening (Substance screening and background check)
- Must pass Motor Vehicle Record Check (MVR) and/or DOT Compliance screenings
- Must be able to lift over 50 pounds
- Must be able to bend

- Must be able to work in the heat
- Must be able to work in the cold (non-climate controlled) setting
- Must be able to read technical manuals

- Must be able to process critical thinking skills to troubleshoot the problem

- Must be able to maintain and navigate systems of records receipt and invoice management
- Must be able to facilitate accurate and timely expense reporting
- Must be able to consult with field employees
- Must be able to determine the work required before beginning repairs
- Must be able to maintain mobility and travel to provide necessary preventative maintenance and services to the fleet
- Must be able to service the greater KY, TN, GA areas
- Must be able to obtain CDL B permit and perform the assignments to satisfy the DOT requirements for CDL B
- Must be able to prepare and meet timely goals to obtain CDL B permit
