Job Summary
Conduct thorough pre- and post-de-blade inspections, remove existing blades, and perform precise re-blading of rotors and stators according to OEM specifications. Manufacture shrouds using forming and welding techniques, peen them to enhance fatigue strength, and execute fit-up troubleshooting. Weigh and sort individual blades to create weight-matched sets while documenting findings in quality control records. Operate manual lathes, mills, surface grinders, and precision measuring instruments to ensure dimensional tolerances meet customer specs. Collaborate with machinists, welders, and engineers to complete complex turbine projects safely, with up to 50% travel required and an average of 45 hours per week.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 Years of Blading experience
- Solid foundation and understanding in blade repair on both assembly and installation of blade
- Manufacturing shroud and peening
- Proficiency in using Bridgeport mills (3 axis CNC preferred)
- Proficiency in using surface grinders (CNC preferred)
- Proficiency in using arbor press
- Proficiency in using rolling machines
- Knowledge and ability to use precision measuring instruments associated with turbine repair
- Ability to take precision measurements with OD micrometers
- Ability to take precision measurements with ID micrometers
- Ability to take precision measurements with depth gauges
- Ability to take precision measurements with calipers
- Proficiency in using a variety of hand and power tools for successful blade repairs and installation
- High School Diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug, alcohol test, and background check
- Ability to act professionally under stressful situations
- Able to understand, read, write and speak English
- Ability and willingness to lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs
- Must not have allergies or issues related to handling metals, including aluminum, copper, bronze, and steel
- Authorized to work in the United States
