Job Summary
Outside Sales Representative at Spectrum drives growth by acquiring new residential customers through doorstep/lead interactions, performing needs analyses, and presenting tailored Spectrum solutions (high-speed data, mobile, landline, and video). Responsibilities include creating compelling sales proposals, completing all sales documentation, participating in trainings and meetings, achieving monthly targets, monitoring competitors, and traveling extensively (approximately 90% outdoors) with minimal time in an office. Must be able to work evenings and weekends, travel to assigned territories, and possess a valid driver’s license with reliable personal vehicle. Education requirement is a High School Diploma or equivalent; strong interpersonal skills, English proficiency, and the ability to work independently are essential. The role offers base pay plus commissions with total compensation potential over $100,000 annually.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent work experience
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
- Engaging interpersonal skills
- Ability to travel (including during inclement weather) to and from assigned territories and company facilities
- Familiarity with computer operating systems and software applications as well as consumer and commercial communication devices (e.g., PDAs, smartphones, routers, modems, set-top converters, and wireless devices)
- Must be able to work evenings and weekends, and as business needs dictate to maximize prospective customer contact
- Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
- A valid driver’s license, car insurance, a satisfactory driving record, and the use of a reliable personal vehicle
- 2+ years sales or relevant work experience
- Knowledge of cable or telecommunications services, with an emphasis on data networking fundamentals and ability to educate consumers on related products and services as needed
- Travel door to door for extensive periods through local communities
- Able to lift and transport 10-20 pounds
