Field Sales Engineer

Job Summary
Execute high-level system designs including detailed site surveys, camera placement, bandwidth calculations, and schematic drawings for pre- and post-sales opportunities across the Northeast Business Area. Support sales growth initiatives by collaborating with Regional Sales Managers, constructing technology training, and representing the company at industry trade shows. Maintain and update the local Experience Center while acting as a backup to other sales engineers. Manage up to 75% regional and international travel, requiring strong multitasking and time management skills to meet performance goals.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years experience in a customer-facing pre-sales role
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Network Engineering, or Information Systems
- Strong knowledge of the physical security and IT markets
- Strong networking knowledge (TCP/IP, Routers, Switches, VPNs, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of VoIP solutions, SIP and related protocols
- Strong knowledge of video transport protocols and compression technologies
- Strong knowledge of image quality and photography principles
- Strong knowledge of electronic access control concepts and components
- Strong technical writing and presentation skills (white paper, manuals, instructions, etc.)
- Experienced design documentation skills (schematics, flow charts, topologies, metrics, FOV, pixels on target, angles, etc.)
- Professional communication skills (Listening, Written, Verbal)
- Ability to train others
- Proven record of excellent time management and multitasking ability
- Ability to convey complex technologies and specifications easily
- Positive customer-centric attitude
- Regional and some International travel required
- Up to 75% travel may be required
- Occasionally required to lift 20-40 lbs
- Ability to climb and stand on ladders or lifts for an extended period of time
- Ability to work with heights. Ceilings, ladders, rooftops, etc.
