Field Safety Technician

Job Summary

Advocate for Signal Energy, LLC by promoting company culture, policies, and procedures while representing the organization professionally with clients, subcontractors, and local officials. Assist crew members with daily paperwork, including job safety analyses, work instructions, and permit-to-work forms, while completing and documenting weekly site audits. Audit and manage spill kits, first aid supplies, fire extinguishers, and power tool inspections, and assist with issuing PPE as needed. Exercise stop-work authority with front-line supervisors and facilitate site-specific trainings, including orientations and toolbox talks. Partner with the Safety Manager, Project Manager, and Construction Manager to ensure field safety program needs are addressed and corrective actions are completed per Signal Energy's policies. Champion the ALLSAFE cultural safety program and assist in developing site-specific safety plans. Solve problems through face-to-face communication and work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and noise.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • OSHA 30 Minimum
  • Current valid driver's license
  • Must be willing and able to commute to and from the job site on a daily basis
  • Must be able to understand, interpret, and apply regulatory requirements applicable to the project scope of work
  • Must be highly motivated and able to work independently and efficiently under limited supervision
  • Must be able to climb 300' ladder
  • Ability to learn technical and safety management aspects of all project construction activities
  • Excellent mathematical skills, including application, and use in problem solving
  • Ability to lead, influence and coordinate own and others' actions
  • Ability to manage own time effectively
  • Strong coordination, time management, active listening, verbal and written communication skills, critical thinking and reasoning skills
  • Self-motivated, able to learn quickly and independently
  • Computer literacy and basic knowledge of MS Office
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions, as safety permits
  • Ability to learn work installation processes and actively engage with crew members to promote safety culture

Desired Qualifications

  • OSHA 510 / OSHA 500 (both preferred but not required)
  • 2 years construction safety experience preferred
