Field Safety Technician

Job Summary
Advocate for Signal Energy by promoting company culture, policies, and procedures while representing the firm professionally with clients, subcontractors, and local officials. Assist crew members with daily paperwork, including job safety analyses, work instructions, and permit-to-work forms, while completing and documenting weekly site audits. Audit and manage safety equipment such as spill kits, first aid supplies, and power tool inspections, and facilitate site-specific trainings and toolbox talks. Champion the ALLSAFE cultural safety program and work with the Safety Manager to develop site-specific safety plans. Exercise stop-work authority when necessary and ensure corrective actions are completed in accordance with OSHA and EPA regulations. This role requires commuting daily to project sites, working outdoors in all weather conditions, and climbing ladders up to 300 feet. OSHA 30 certification and two years of construction safety experience are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- OSHA 30 Minimum
- Current valid driver's license
- Must be willing and able to commute to and from the job site on a daily basis
- Must be able to understand, interpret, and apply regulatory requirements applicable to the project scope of work
- Must be highly motivated and able to work independently and efficiently under limited supervision
- Must be able to climb 300' ladder
- Ability to lift or move up to 25 pounds
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions, as safety permits
- Ability to learn technical and safety management aspects of all project construction activities
- Excellent mathematical skills, including application, and use in problem solving
- Ability to lead, influence and coordinate own and others' actions
- Ability to manage own time effectively
- Strong coordination, time management, active listening, verbal and written communication skills, critical thinking and reasoning skills
- Self-motivated, able to learn quickly and independently
- Computer literacy and basic knowledge of MS Office
Desired Qualifications
- OSHA 510 / OSHA 500 (both preferred but not required)
- 2 years construction safety experience preferred
