Field Safety Technician

Job Summary

Promote Signal Energy's safety culture by acting as an advocate for company policies and representing the firm professionally with clients, subcontractors, and local officials. Complete daily paperwork including job safety analyses, work instructions, and permit-to-work forms, while conducting weekly site audits and managing spill kits, first aid supplies, and power tool inspections. Issue PPE to crews, exercise stop-work authority, and facilitate site-specific trainings and toolbox talks. Collaborate with the Safety Manager and project team to develop emergency plans, track corrective actions, and ensure adherence to OSHA regulations. Solve problems through direct communication while working outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and snow.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • OSHA 30 Minimum
  • Current valid driver's license
  • Must be willing and able to commute to and from the job site on a daily basis
  • Must be able to understand, interpret, and apply regulatory requirements applicable to the project scope of work
  • Must be highly motivated and able to work independently and efficiently under limited supervision
  • Must be able to climb 300' ladder
  • Ability to lift or move up to 25 pounds
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions, as safety permits
  • Ability to learn technical and safety management aspects of all project construction activities
  • Excellent mathematical skills, including application, and use in problem solving
  • Ability to lead, influence and coordinate own and others' actions
  • Ability to manage own time effectively
  • Strong coordination, time management, active listening, verbal and written communication skills, critical thinking and reasoning skills
  • Self-motivated, able to learn quickly and independently
  • Computer literacy and basic knowledge of MS Office

Desired Qualifications

  • OSHA 510 / OSHA 500 (both preferred but not required)
  • 2 years construction safety experience preferred
