Field Safety Specialist

Job Summary
Field Safety Specialist conducts in-person safety and wellness checks during site visits, evaluating home environments for indicators of trafficking, abuse, neglect, abandonment, or other safety concerns; documents findings, maintains confidentiality, and escalates urgent concerns per procedures. The role requires bilingual English/Spanish communication, strong writing and reporting skills, ability to travel domestically, and adherence to safety, ethical, and security protocols. Responsibilities include using standardized assessment protocols, documenting sponsor identification and household relationships, coordinating with teams to ensure accurate information flow, and providing coaching to recently hired staff. A minimum of an associate degree (or equivalent experience) and relevant field experience are required, along with the ability to pass a government background investigation and maintain security clearances. Duties may involve extended standing/walking, lifting up to 40 lbs, and working a flexible schedule to support a 24/7 operation.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in an appropriate discipline from an accredited college (a high school diploma with one or more years of extra relevant experience may be substituted for an associate degree)
- two years of documented experience in a field related to law, social work, detention, corrections, or similar occupational area
- certification, licensure, and credentials as applicable to the professional accreditation of the position if applicable
- bilingual; English and Spanish
- effective communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to travel domestically on short notice and frequently
- valid driver’s license with safe driving record
- pass and maintain Government Security Background Investigation including favorable credit check, no criminal record, no prior drug use
- ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and graveyard shifts
- proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- ability to write and type; strong report writing skills
- standing/walking for extended periods and lifting up to 40 lbs
- ability to access and work in varied home environments
- ability to handle confidential information
- ability to de-escalate situations and elevate issues appropriately
- knowledge of safety and security protocols
