Job Summary
Conduct on-site Loss Control Surveys of prospective and current policyholders to assess insurability, safety programs, and hazard controls. Organize and manage a geographic territory by scheduling work according to priority systems and due dates, optimizing travel efficiency. Assess work environments for deficiencies, communicate identified risks and recommendations to reduce injury potential, and provide safety information to assist with compliance and employee training. Complete and return safety surveys electronically while meeting department goals for quality, production, and timeliness. Travel via personal vehicle to business locations, with occasional extended periods away from home as required.
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in safety or verifiable work experience in safety
- Excellent knowledge of safety regulations and recognized safe work practices
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Adequate computer knowledge and typing skills
- Physical ability to climb stairs and ladders up to 40 feet tall to inspect elevated work sites, walk and stand for extended periods of time indoors and outdoors in potentially inclement weather and traverse difficult terrain (rough, slippery, unlevel), sit/drive for extended period, lift up to 40 Pounds to assess safety of handheld equipment such as chainsaws
- Strong sense of self-motivation and the ability to work independently from home and in the field
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving history and reliable transportation
- Must live in or be willing to relocate to the territory
- Less than 25% overnight travel
- Working away from home for up to two consecutive weeks may be required to assist in other territories
