Job Summary
Coordinates safety and emergency management services for a designated district territory. Conducts safety/security inspections, investigations, and intruder drills; assists with safety councils; generates reports of findings and recommends solutions to administrators/principals for mitigation and prevention of hazards, emergencies, and losses. Requires flexible hours including evenings, rotating shifts, holidays, weekends, and emergency situations. Travel to school campuses and district facilities for inspections, training, and meetings; leadership in safety council discussions; reports and recommendations to improve accident/loss control and district-wide safety programs.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree or 60 hours
- 1 to 3 years of work experience
- Certifications from National Fire Prevention Association, National Safety Council, Safety Management and/or Occupational Safety; Fire Inspector, Fire Investigator, Plumbing, OSHA, NIMS/ICS, FEMA, Playground, Pool Inspection, Bleacher Inspection
- Microsoft Office
- Ability to travel to campuses, departments throughout the district, and emergency management organizations as needed
