Job Summary
Respiratory Therapist – Ventilator Support delivers specialized respiratory care to ventilator-dependent patients in home and alternate care settings, including ventilator equipment management, patient/family education, and coordination with physicians. The role conducts clinical assessments, assists with discharge planning, documents care activities per company standards, and participates in on-call coverage. Requires anesthetic and regulatory knowledge, HIPAA compliance, and the ability to educate patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals on ventilator units, supplies, and proper equipment use. Travel to field/home-based settings is involved, with in-office responsibilities as needed, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree from an AMA-approved respiratory program
- One (1) year of clinical experience as a Nurse with ventilator exposure, Healthcare Respiratory Therapist or HME Respiratory Therapist
- Valid and unrestricted Respiratory Therapist license in all states serviced by the branch
- CPR certification
- Valid and unrestricted driver’s license
