Job Summary
Field Respiratory Therapist – Ventilator Support responsibilities include delivering specialized respiratory care to ventilator-dependent patients in home and alternate care settings, performing clinical assessments and reassessments, coordinating with physicians and referrals, conducting discharge planning for complex cases, educating patients and caregivers on ventilator use, documenting care activities, maintaining regulatory compliance, and traveling to support patient outcomes outside the hospital. Required skills include advanced knowledge of ventilator equipment and HME products, strong communication and collaboration with care teams, ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment, and proficiency with clinical documentation and compliance practices. Ideal candidates hold an Associate degree in respiratory therapy, one year of ventilator-exposure experience, valid RT license, CPR, and a valid driver’s license.
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree from an AMA-approved respiratory program
- One (1) year of clinical experience as a Nurse with ventilator exposure, Healthcare Respiratory Therapist or HME Respiratory Therapist
- Valid and unrestricted Respiratory Therapist license in all states serviced by the branch
- CPR certification
- Valid and unrestricted driver’s license
