Job Summary
Field Respiratory Therapist – Ventilator Support delivers specialized respiratory care to ventilator-dependent patients in home and alternate care settings. Responsibilities include maintaining advanced knowledge of respiratory equipment and ventilators, performing clinical assessments and reassessments, participating in discharge planning, instructing patients and caregivers on equipment use, providing clinical follow-up, conducting in-services, ensuring HIPAA and infection-control compliance, and maintaining complete patient records. The role requires collaboration with physicians and care teams, on-call availability, and adherence to regulatory standards while promoting program development and engagement with referral sources.
Required Qualifications
- Valid and unrestricted Respiratory Therapist license in all states serviced by the branch
- CPR certification
- Associates degree from an AMA-approved respiratory program
- One (1) year of clinical experience as a Nurse with ventilator exposure, Healthcare Respiratory Therapist or HME Respiratory Therapist
- Valid and unrestricted driver’s license
