Job Summary

Deliver specialized respiratory care to ventilator-dependent patients in home and alternate care settings, performing clinical assessments, reassessments, and discharge planning for highly technical cases. Maintain advanced knowledge of respiratory equipment and ventilators while instructing patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals on proper device use and safety protocols. Collaborate proactively with physicians, referral sources, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes, manage on-call rotations during non-business hours, and ensure strict adherence to HIPAA, PPE, and infection control standards. Accurately document all care activities, prescriptions, and treatment plans to support quality tracking, reimbursement, and regulatory compliance. Maintain licensure and complete required compliance training to uphold the highest standards of patient safety and care coordination.

Required Qualifications

  • Associates degree from an AMA-approved respiratory program
  • One (1) year of clinical experience as a Nurse with ventilator exposure, Healthcare Respiratory Therapist or HME Respiratory Therapist
  • Valid and unrestricted Respiratory Therapist license in all states serviced by the branch
  • CPR certification
  • Valid and unrestricted driver's license
  • Demonstrated experience providing respiratory care to ventilator patients, including ventilator management, airway clearance, and oxygen therapy
  • Strong clinical assessment, decision making, and problem solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot equipment and adapt care as needed
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with patients, caregivers, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams
  • Ability to prioritize work, manage multiple responsibilities, and remain flexible in a fast paced, changing healthcare environment
  • Technical aptitude with Microsoft Office and clinical systems, with the ability to quickly learn new technologies and understand regulatory requirements at the local, state, and federal levels
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs
