Job Summary
Field Property Claims Adjuster conducts both virtual and on-site investigations by visiting policyholders’ residences to assess property damage, determine liability, evaluate the extent of loss, and negotiate fair settlements. Uses claims handling software, a company car, and a laptop to determine claims-related damage and write estimates in a paperless environment. Evaluates potential subrogation opportunities and reports incidents involving theft, fraud, or arson. Performs duties independently and represents the company professionally in interactions with policyholders, claimants, agents, witnesses, contractors, law enforcement, fraud/arson investigators, attorneys, medical professionals, and other stakeholders. Requires high school diploma or equivalent and strong customer service. Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook; comfort with smartphones and applications; travel to policyholder residences; and a willingness to deploy for CAT-related activities as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Excellent customer service experience (preferably in a retail environment)
- Construction or Insurance experience is highly desirable and preferred
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
- Computer literate: MS Word, Excel, Outlook
- Proficiency with smartphones and applications
- Eagerness to learn about insurance policies and property damage
- Outgoing personality with ability to interact with diverse stakeholders
- Valid driver's license and Bondable
- Motor Vehicle Record background check may be required for company vehicle use
- Willingness to travel to policyholder residences and perform on-site inspections
- Ability to climb ladders and work in attics/crawlspaces
- Ability to perform in field and in-home office environments
