Job Summary
Oversee overall site management of projects for successful completion within budget and scope, preparing installation plans and supervising Project Specialists, installers, and subcontractors. Direct on-site activities, verify quality assurance standards, and mentor colleagues while performing hands-on installation, programming, testing, and repair of fire, security, and building automation systems. Identify project risks, communicate to appropriate parties, and implement strategies to minimize impact on costs and deadlines. Ensure installations comply with national and local codes, coordinate scope changes, and provide technical support and training to customers. Requires frequent jobsite visits, valid driver's license, advanced mechanical/electrical aptitude, and experience with blueprints and wiring methods.
Required Qualifications
- College degree, trade school or equivalent experience
- 5-7 relevant years
- Exceptional customer focus
- Ability to regularly work under pressure
- Consistent ability to maintain awareness of, and seek to meet the needs and wants of the customer without being prompted
- Strong supervision skills
- Installation experience related to building automation systems, fire alarm systems, and/or electronic security systems
- Ability to adapt procedures, processes, tools to meet the more complex requirements of the job
- Strong field supervision skills
- Proven ability to troubleshoot problems and look for solutions
- Self-starter
- Ability to work well without supervision
- Advanced mechanical and electrical aptitude
- Ability to read blueprints and drawings
- Advanced math skills
- Valid driver's license
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Advanced organizational skills
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Highly proficient computer skills
- Familiarity with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Excellent understanding of blueprints, design drawings including wiring and labeling methods, system wiring, wiring methods, and cable support installation (J-Hook, Raceway, Conduit, Cable Support)
- Ability to determine installation procedures unassisted using basic blueprints, schematics, manuals, and other specifications
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in 1 or more of the following industries: electronic security
- Lead a crew of installers
- Hands-on experience with access control and CCTV/video management systems
- At least 1-2 access control certification (Lenel OnGuard, Software House C•CURE, or Genetec)
- At least 1-2 CCTV/VMS certification (Milestone, Genetec, or Avigilon)
