Job Summary
Field Producer for MS NOW responsible for pitching, developing, and producing enterprise and day-of news stories for TV and digital platforms; produce live segments from the field, studio, or remote locations; write and vet scripts, oversee reporter packages, and contribute digital stories; conduct in-person and remote interviews; coordinate on-site coverage and logistics; secure locations and interviews; edit field footage for multi-platform use; provide real-time updates to newsroom teams; support the Assignment Desk as needed; thrive under tight deadlines and adapt to a start-up environment; requires strong storytelling with distinctive visuals, travel on short notice, and collaboration with Washington teams across White House, Congress, National Security, Legal Affairs, and Polling.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum five years’ experience in a major television news organization
- Experience producing live segments, both in the field or in the studio or from remote network locations
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Must have flexibility and ability to work long and varied schedules and travel when needed
- Proficient in shooting reporters in the field using a range of camera technologies, including DSLR/mirrorless systems, and mobile newsgathering tools such as smartphones and LiveU or Dejero units
