Field Preventive Maintenance Technician

Job Summary
Conduct field service inspections and general preventative maintenance based on customer service agreements. Perform comprehensive oil, filter, and lubrication services, including checking and filling fluid levels to O.E.M. specifications. Take required Scheduled Oil Samples (SOS) on components, inspect equipment for external signs of potential component failure, and report inoperable safety devices. Maintain detailed lube records and provide customers with service reports, oil samples, and inspection paperwork. Ensure field lube trucks are service-ready and maintain customer service fluid supplies. Demonstrate knowledge of proper startup and shutdown procedures of CAT equipment. Flexibility to work after hours as needed to meet customer demands.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or (GED) equivalent
- One year experience servicing heavy equipment or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Basic knowledge of safely operating heavy construction equipment
- Basic heavy equipment service/maintenance knowledge
- Able to perform machine inspections
- Ability to operate a service vehicle
- Organizational and time management skills required
- Must have the ability to set and keep priorities and professionally handle the stress associated with dealing with a fast-paced industry and deadlines
- Must be a Team player that is enthusiastic and hard working with the ability to complete work with minimal supervision
- High degree of interpersonal skills with solid written and oral communication skills
- Must possess the personal discipline to establish the proper image as a representative of Blanchard Machinery with the ability to meet and work with the customer in a professional manner
- Ability to perform duties with a sense of urgency, exceeding customer expectations
- Able to work in a dynamic, fast paced service environment
- Proficient in the use of a computer and related software (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Strong problem-solving skills and detailed oriented with a high level of accuracy
- Valid driver's license and a safe driving record
- Able to work varying shifts, weekends, and holidays
- Must be able to lift varied weight
