Job Summary
Diagnose, maintain, and repair diesel-driven generators at customer sites, performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting complex mechanical and electrical issues, and completing repairs safely. Monitor generator performance, conduct routine inspections, identify technical issues, and support system upgrades while maintaining safety standards in varied field conditions. Keep paperwork updated and submit upon completion of all tasks. This role requires a minimum of three years of experience with industrial power generation sets, familiarity with diesel engines and switchgear, and the ability to work independently with little supervision.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working with industrial power generation sets
- Experience with diesel and natural gas engines, electrical switchgear, and automatic transfer switches
- Must have your own set of general tools
- Ability to work with diagnostic computers for troubleshooting and repairs
- Use computers for web-based training and repair order systems
- Physically able to lift and work with no restrictions
- Clean driving record and ability to pass a D.O.T. Physical
Desired Qualifications
- Technical degree or certification a plus
- Positive attitude and excellent customer relationship skills
- Basic-level knowledge of and/or experience with power generation products
- Ability to set goals and accomplish them
- Desire to pursue certification opportunities for the most up-to-date product training
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
- Strong work ethic and ability to work with little supervision
