Field Payroll Specialist

Job Summary
The Field Payroll Specialist is responsible for ensuring that all employees are paid accurately and timely. Processes multiple weekly union/nonunion payrolls with more than 600+ employees across multiple companies. Manages timecards, corrections, and adjustments from field locations; ensures timely delivery of payroll checks to site locations; handles manual layoff/termination/adjustment checks; processes transfers to ensure checks print correctly; maintains payroll-related reports and payments; processes state and federal regulatory compliance; sets up garnishments and 3rd party payments; supports month-end closing and provides training as needed. Proficient in in-house software and Microsoft Office; emphasizes attention to detail, organization, and effective communication with management, staff, vendors, and clients; experience with Oracle preferred; travel 0%.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Finance, Accounting or related discipline
- Minimum 6 years’ work experience in payroll, preferably with a union employer
- Proficiency with in-house software and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing requirements
- Strong communication skills and professional interaction with all levels of staff
