Job Summary

Process all timecards submitted and approved in Heavy Job, maintaining records and filing payroll reports while creating interim checks outside the normal pay cycle. Audit, reconcile, and process timecard information for weekly and craft employees, ensuring compliance with collective bargaining agreements and union requirements. Analyze payroll and timecard reports for accurate recordkeeping and certified payroll reporting, reviewing edits to ensure accurate gross payments. Meet daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines for timecard processing and support the payroll staff through decision-making and project-related process improvements.

Required Qualifications

  • Associates Degree in Accounting or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years of related payroll experience
  • Advanced technical knowledge of commonly-used payroll concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Team player
  • Attention to detail
  • Advanced knowledge of JD Edwards, Heavy Job, Word and Excel
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Problem Solving Skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to abide by Company's Code of Conduct on a daily basis
  • Occasional travel
  • Accumulate working knowledge of the collective bargaining agreements for the area in which timecards are processed to ensure payrate accuracy and be in compliance with union requirements
  • Maintain a key understanding of the projects and type of work generating the timecards to ensure payrate accuracy
  • Audit, reconcile and process timecard information received from the field for weekly, craft employees in order to ensure accuracy
  • Analyze payroll and timecard reports for accurate recordkeeping and reporting
  • Create hourly interim checks as needed, including reviewing edits to ensure accurate gross payments to employees
  • Meet daily, weekly and monthly timecard processing deadlines in payroll to ensure timeliness
  • Process a variety of recordkeeping functions in a computerized system to ensure accurate reporting of timecard information and certified payroll reports
  • Provide superior customer service in a timely, professional manner to promote a positive interaction with internal and external customers in order to ensure individuals experience the highest quality of customer service
  • Support the payroll staff through decision making to assist team Lead or Supervisor
  • Participate in project related activities specific to Field Payroll process improvements to gain standardization and efficiency
  • Highly Organized
  • Ability to abide by Company's Code of Conduct on a daily basis
