Job Summary
Maintain logbooks, issue Safe Work Agreements, and direct maintenance activities according to Strathcona procedures and work standards. Provide coaching and training to employees while leading emergency situations and participating in Emergency Response Plan drills. Operate in compliance with Federal, Provincial, and Corporate Health, Safety, and Environment regulations. Troubleshoot plant issues, write and revise Operations Procedures, and report deficiencies to initiate MOCs and enter work orders. Willing to train and work in all operating positions in both the plant and field. Ensure all areas meet company cleanliness standards and represent the corporation professionally. Based at the Bellis location with an 8/6 work shift rotation. Requires residing within 100 km of Smoky Lake, Alberta.
Required Qualifications
- Reside within 100 km of Smoky Lake, Alberta
- 3+ years of direct related experience in field operations
- Full working knowledge of safety procedures
- Full working knowledge of plant equipment
- Full working knowledge of all areas of plant operations
- Ability to maintain logbooks to ensure entries are legible, informative, and time stamped
- Ability to accurately issue Safe Work Agreements in the assigned work area
- Ability to direct maintenance activities and ensure work is completed according to Strathcona procedures and work standards
- Ability to provide coaching and training to other employees as needed
- Ability to provide responsible and effective leadership during emergency situations or maintenance activities
- Willingness to participate in Emergency Response Plan (ERP) drills, as well as near-miss, incident, and behavioral-based safety program initiatives
- Ability to operate in compliance with Federal, Provincial, and Corporate Health, Safety, and Environment regulations and guidelines
- Ability to provide creative solutions and effective problem solving for plant issues, including troubleshooting, identifying deficiencies, and recommending effective process improvements
- Ability to write, review, and revise Operations Procedures
- Ability to report deficiencies, initiate MOCs, and enter work orders
- Willingness to train and work in all operating positions in both the plant and field
- Ability to ensure all areas are kept clean and meet/exceed company standards
- Commitment to working collaboratively in a team environment
- Ability to continue to learn new tasks and provide/receive feedback
- Ability to continue to develop competence and interpersonal skills
- Ability to represent the corporation in a professional and respectful manner at all times
- Ability to use and learn computer software applicable to the facility
