Job Summary
Operate gas and steam turbines, HRSGs, and associated plant equipment in a safe and efficient manner under Shift Supervisor or Main Control Room Operator instruction. Record routine parameter readings, report deviations, and inform supervisors of any abnormalities or equipment problems. Ensure standby equipment is available for emergency service and assist in routine testing or re-commissioning following maintenance outages. Carry out on-the-job training to achieve increased competency while maintaining high housekeeping standards and adopting safe working practices. Identify hazards and participate effectively in the reporting system. Complete shift reports in English at the Jebel Ali Site for the Operator Turbine & Boiler and Assistant Operator roles.
Required Qualifications
- Higher Secondary School Certificate
- 4 years in a power station
- 2 years' work experience as Desalination Operator (PG7) or equivalent experience gained working in a similar industry
- Achieved competencies in all areas except DCR operation
- English language skills (to prepare and complete shift reports. Intermediate 3 or equivalent level)
- Basic numeracy (e.g. concentration, percentage, unit conversion, rate calculations etc.)
- Ability to understand single line diagram
