Job Summary
Manage a crew by ensuring laborers report on time, fit for work, and comply with all policies. Procure necessary materials and equipment while maintaining materials usage documentation. Determine task assignments for employees on the jobsite and monitor production levels to support promotion recommendations. Lead team safety meetings, report incidents immediately, and provide initial and continual training for all members. Maintain housekeeping standards, document safety status of machinery, and communicate with the Equipment Shop for maintenance. Forward member concerns to Human Resources and collaborate with the Superintendent on disciplinary measures. This developmental role prepares you for a Field Manager position within 1-2 years. The position requires a valid driver's license and the ability to lift objects over 60lbs. Experience in heavy civil construction is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience managing a team of employees
- displaying significant management and leadership experience
- Proven excellence in carrying out drive, results-oriented job duties and responsibilities
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to frequently lift heavy objects over 60lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in a heavy/civil construction industry
- Knowledge of heavy equipment, hand-held equipment, and general commercial construction
- Knowledge of safety practices within a construction environment
- Known for taking action, building consensus, being influential, and making purposeful decisions
