Job Summary
Field Operations Technician role combining pre-install site assessments and post-install inspections for residential solar projects. Responsibilities include visiting customer homes to collect detailed measurements, photographs, and structural/electrical data; assessing roof conditions and electrical service panels; climbing ladders and walking rooftops; submitting survey data via mobile field tools; performing post-installation inspections to verify readiness for AHJ or utility approval; ensuring installations meet workmanship, code, and safety standards; collaborating with install teams and project managers to resolve inspection issues; scheduling inspections with AHJ and customers; maintaining tools and safety equipment; representing the company in customer-facing interactions; and supporting flexible schedules, including weekends or holidays as needed. Required: high school diploma or GED; strong attention to detail and ability to follow standardized procedures; valid driver’s license and ability to pass driving background check; physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on rooftops/attics.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous PV design, PV installation or PV electrical experience preferred (with minimum of one year of field construction experience)
- Comfortable working on roofs, ladders, and in tight spaces
- Familiarity with basic hand tools, measuring devices, and mobile technology
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred
- Must be 21 years of age, valid driver’s license, clean driving record
