Job Summary
Lead project planning, scoping, and execution for pump and water transfer operations, including rig-in and rig-out of water transfer systems. Supervise day-to-day field operations, oversee setup and teardown of modular tank systems, and manage field equipment such as pumps, filtration units, and generators. Perform basic maintenance, troubleshooting, and routine inspections to ensure equipment performance and compliance. Act as the primary client contact, anticipate needs, and collaborate with vendors to deliver efficient solutions. Promote and enforce health, safety, and environmental programs by leading safety meetings and job hazard assessments. Support onboarding and training of field technicians while maintaining accurate documentation. This role requires 5+ years of hands-on pumping experience in oil & gas, including water transfer and modular tank operations, with a strong leadership background. Based in Grande Prairie, Alberta, with a combination of shop and field-based work in varying weather conditions.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on pumping experience in oil & gas, including water transfer, long-line pumping, and modular tank operations
- 5+ years of leadership or supervisory experience with demonstrated team leadership and communication skills
- Strong understanding of field operations, equipment setup, and troubleshooting
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and operational documents
- Proven ability to work collaboratively across teams and with external stakeholders
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Adaptable and able to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, PDF tools)
- Experience in training, mentoring, and employee development
- Combination of shop and field-based work, including outdoor environments in varying and extreme weather conditions
- Physically demanding role (lifting, bending, manual handling)
- Exposure to industrial noise, chemicals, dust, and fumes
- Regular travel required
- Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing required
- This position is based out of Grande Prairie, Alberta, the successful candidate must reside within this area
