Field Operations Manager

Job Summary

Own the end-to-end operational workflow for Field Engineering, managing resourcing, readiness, execution, and closeout while maintaining the field engagement tracker. Coordinate imaging, configuration, software versioning, and shipping for deployments and demos, ensuring hardware operational readiness and standard loadouts. Create and maintain the asset-management system to track inventory, custody, location, and lifecycle for all field gear. Own the field knowledge base by maintaining SOPs, checklists, templates, and after-action reviews to ensure lessons learned are captured and reusable. Translate product updates into field-relevant guidance, coordinate daily SITREPs, and provide operational updates to leadership. Build onboarding pathways, define readiness requirements, and run enablement sessions to ensure Field Engineers are prepared for mission types. This role transitions from an Individual Contributor to a team lead, partnering with Field Engineering, Mission Operations, Product, and Security to scale operational models.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience
  • 4+ years of experience in Field Operations, Technical Enablement, Customer Success, or Systems Engineering, with a specific focus on building and scaling operational systems
  • 2+ years of experience leading or managing teams
  • Proven track record of operationalizing informal or ad-hoc processes into repeatable, scalable operating models
  • Strong proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation, data routing, and operational tooling
  • Experience supporting production software deployed into mission-critical, disconnected, or hybrid environments
  • Working understanding of networking, cloud infrastructure, infrastructure-as-code, monitoring, and operational reliability
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to create clear documentation and standardized operating procedures
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance

Desired Qualifications

  • Active Top Secret or Secret Security Clearance
  • Experience supporting Department of Defense or Intelligence Community software programs, including accreditation activities (RMF, ATO, IATT)
  • Experience with Field Enablement and Field Resource Management
  • Experience deploying and managing software/hardware at the tactical edge
  • Background in both technical engineering and operational management (dual-hat experience is highly valued)
  • Familiarity with AI/ML platforms and mission software ecosystems
