Field Operations Manager

Job Summary
Lead field customer interactions and manage service work scheduling to meet equipment maintenance expectations. Oversee end-to-end service processes, including time entry, while championing safety standards and OH&S requirements. Direct staff through recruitment, coaching, and performance feedback, and review daily results against SWIP velocity and branch profitability KPIs. Bridge customer engagement with repair execution by coordinating priorities with field supervisors and dispatching. Ensure work orders close and invoice timely, manage service trucks and tooling, and maintain strong union relationships. This role supports Finning Canada's mission as the largest Caterpillar dealer in Western Canada, delivering service across mining, construction, and forestry sectors.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience successfully managing teams in a shop and/or a field environment
- Demonstrated effective leadership and supervisory skills
- Strong decision making and problem solving skills
- Strong communication skills to engage, motive and lead employees
- Ability to understand and interpret associated KPIs related to branch profitability
- Proven relationship management skills with a strong customer focus
- Strong understanding of the Caterpillar product line and Caterpillar processes (goodwill, product health and structure, etc.)
- Strong understanding of the National Safety Code (NSC)
- Strong understanding of CAT and non-Cat warranties
- Understanding of the collective agreement, performance management and disciplinary processes and the principles of high performance leadership
- Strong understanding of business acumen and financial planning, budgeting and forecasting
- Previous experience with CAT 797 Haul Trucks
- Previous shop and field experience
- Previous experience with maintenance and repair contracts
