Field Office Director

Job Summary

Lead the development of overall program strategy and operational plans for the Colchester, Vermont Field Office, overseeing complex programs including refugee resettlement, employment services, and community agriculture. Manage annual budgets, secure federal and local grants, and ensure contractual compliance while building relationships with government leaders, donors, and community partners. Direct hiring and training for case management, operations, and interpretation staff, fostering a client-centered team through continuous development and quality assurance. Serve as the primary advocate for refugees and immigrants in the local community, coordinating with headquarters leadership on fundraising, staffing, and program evaluation. Moderate travel for outreach events and site visits is required.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of professional work experience with supervisory and program management experience
  • Demonstrated commitment to humanitarian response, for refugees, immigrants, asylum seekers, and/or other vulnerable populations
  • Strong leadership experience and team-building skills, with the capacity to serve as lead for provision of trauma-informed, culturally appropriate, and competent client care
  • Solid experience with budget management and oversight of financial processes
  • Experience with strategic planning for program growth and fundraising
  • Experience with monitoring & evaluation activities to ensure program quality and compliance with federal, state, and local grant/donor requirements
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to government funders, donors, clients from diverse cultural backgrounds and experience, multicultural staff, community partners, and volunteers
  • Ability to work under pressure and respond effectively in crisis management
  • Exceptional time management, attention to detail, ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Strong decision-making skills and capacity to delegate decision-making to team members
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, financial systems, and database programs
  • Must pass a criminal background check and other screening requirements
  • Must have a valid driver's license, insurance, clean driving record and reliable personal transportation
  • Candidate must have dedication to the human rights of refugees, immigrants, asylum seekers and displaced people
  • Demonstrated support of USCRI's values by exhibiting respect for others, maintenance of confidential information and an appreciation of a multicultural workplace
  • This role involves moderate local, regional, and national travel for local meetings, outreach events, site visits, training events, partnership meetings, and as needed for other management responsibilities
  • Evening or weekend travel may be required

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's degree in business, social services administration, non-profit management, related field, or equivalent experience preferred
