Job Summary
Test, validate, and maintain physical network infrastructure including OSP systems, performing construction activation, repair, and replacement of assets. Install and configure network devices such as routers, switches, and PON equipment while following Method of Procedure documents and change management policies. Collaborate with engineering teams to address outages, pull fiber to restore service, and perform regular audits of completed construction. Operate heavy equipment and tools to replace vaults and conduits, maintaining accurate documentation and schematics. Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours support and occasional overtime. Requires a valid driver's license, 5+ years in telecommunications, and ability to work in all weather conditions.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Valid state driver's license with a clean driving record
- 5+ years of experience in service installation and repair within a multi-service provider or telecommunications environment
- Must be able to traverse and inspect all areas of job site in all types of weather
- Must be able to safely move and lift up to 150lbs using appropriate tools and equipment
- Ability to work with and near DC electronical systems and components
- Excellent visual acuity when inspecting drawings and blueprints
- Must be on-call to address delays, emergencies, bad weather, and other issues at the job site
- Must have a clean driving record and be able to pass a criminal background check
- Willing to work occasional overtime and nights as needed
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong attention to detail
