Job Summary
Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on diesel-powered pump equipment in both shop and field environments. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues while supporting equipment performance and reliability. Travel locally to customer job sites to inspect, service, and evaluate equipment performance. Complete service documentation, work orders, and equipment condition reports. Candidates must have diesel engine experience, hands-on tool proficiency, and a valid driver's license. This role offers strong technical mentorship and long-term career growth for mechanics building diesel and equipment repair expertise within a well-established manufacturer supporting critical dewatering projects.
Required Qualifications
- Must have diesel engine experience or strong mechanical aptitude with diesel engine fundamentals
- Must be able to identify basic engine components such as starters, alternators, filters, belts, and hoses
- Must have hands-on experience using standard hand tools and performing mechanical repairs such as maintenance or component replacement
- Must possess a personal set of tools including basic wrenches, hand tools, and power tools
- Must have a valid driver's license
Desired Qualifications
- Experience repairing diesel-powered equipment or pumps
- Strong troubleshooting ability with mechanical systems
- Experience with electrical systems and/or hydraulic systems
- Background working on construction equipment, trucks, farm equipment, or similar machinery
- Automotive technician background with hands-on diesel or mechanical experience
