Job Summary
Read mechanical schematics, blueprints, and machinist drawings to troubleshoot cranes and industrial equipment, then document findings on appropriate paperwork. Perform mechanical and welding-type duties including rigging, assembling cranes, and operating shop machinery such as saws, forklifts, cherry pickers, and torch welders. Correctively address problems across all crane sizes while working independently with little supervision in extreme conditions involving height, noise, vibration, and temperature. Provide the Service Manager with accurate information on machinery status to install, replace, or order parts. Adhere to established procedures, guidelines, and recognized electrical codes.
Required Qualifications
- extensive knowledge of Crane, Forklift or Industrial Equipment maintenance
- ability to read mechanical schematics
- ability to perform basic mechanical troubleshooting
- ability to read mechanical and machinist blueprints
- ability to use precision measuring instruments
- ability to document findings on appropriate paperwork
- ability to perform welding-type duties
- ability to meet welding specs
- ability to perform rigging
- ability to assemble cranes
- ability to troubleshoot all sizes and types of cranes
- ability to mechanically determine problems
- ability to take corrective action
- ability to work independently with little or no supervision
- ability to provide accurate and complete information on mechanical machinery
- ability to install/replace/order replacement parts
- ability to operate machinery in the shop and the field
- ability to work in extreme conditions such as height, dirt, noise, vibration, nuclear Environment, and temperature
- ability to perform all assignments according to established procedures, guidelines and with recognized electrical codes
