Job Summary
Perform mechanic assignments using independent judgment to diagnose mechanical problems visually or with computer diagnostic equipment. Execute a full range of servicing and repairs on various fleet equipment, including malfunctioning parts and systems, while maintaining compliance with manufacturer guidelines. Conduct routine preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs at customer job sites across Northern Wisconsin, ensuring service vehicles remain clean and professional. Maintain records of time, materials, and equipment condition, and track information in computer software for accurate repair orders and timesheets. Perform safety inspections and prepare documentation in accordance with DOT, EPA, OSHA, and other regulatory rules. Provide oversight for less experienced mechanics and participate in training programs to maintain current safety skills and hazardous material knowledge.
Required Qualifications
- three to five years of experience in general mobile heavy truck repair, automotive repair, or equipment repair
- completed a vocational/technical school program or apprenticeship in vehicle and equipment repair
- four years of experience
- Must be capable of operating company vehicles and equipment on a daily basis
- Must have the ability to drive
- Must have proper licensing
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be reliable
- Must have a strong work ethic
- Proven ability to work independently and without direct supervision
- Good teamwork skills
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to read orders and work instructions
- Ability to make accurate entries in the daily log
- Basic computer or data entry skills
- Solid experience using mechanical tools, materials, and testing equipment
- Solid knowledge of design, adjustment, operation, maintenance, and repair of vehicles and equipment
- Ability to follow posted safety rules and safe operating procedures
- Good understanding of applicable regulatory guidelines and rules
- Must be available for travel in the state of Wisconsin, mainly Northern Wisconsin
- Must be available for occasional overnight travel
- Must be available to respond to emergencies outside regular work hours
- Must be available to work overtime including weekends and holidays
- Must be able to travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance of equipment
- Must maintain service vehicle in a clean and professional manner
- Must be able to provide oversight for less experienced mechanics

- Must have regular and predictable attendance
- Must be able to perform essential functions at a Company-designated office or field location
- Must be able to understand and comply with the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics Policy
- Must be able to comply with other industry-specific professional and ethical standards
- Must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer
