Job Summary
Welcome players, coaches, officials, and spectators while enforcing facility policies, league rules, and safety standards. Monitor game flow, officiate low-stakes youth recreational league games, and ensure games begin and end on schedule. Prepare fields, verify rosters, and sweep concourses, restrooms, and high-touch surfaces to maintain a clean environment. Address disputes calmly, coordinate with front desk staff for operational issues, and report maintenance concerns or incidents as required. Complete routine cleaning tasks between games and assist with equipment setup, including moving heavy goals and netting.
Required Qualifications
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Ability to create a welcoming and positive environment for all customers
- Ability problem solve on the fly
- Experience operating or facilitating youth or adult leagues or tournaments
- Prior experience with a wide range of sports, (ie, soccer, baseball/softball, lacrosse, football, etc) their rules, equipment needs and best practices
- Ability to calmly and effectively resolve conflicts related to league and tournament participants or spectators
- Organization and effective prioritization of responsibilities
- 1-2 years' customer service-related experience, preferably in youth and/or adult sports
- Required to be on your feet and move around the facility for extended periods of time
- Required to periodically set up fields and move heavy goals and netting into place weighing up to 50lbs
- Frequent bending and stooping to pick up balls and other items from the turf, move and set up netting, etc
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with DaySmart Recreation software preferred
- Proficient computer abilities with a variety of applications including MS Suite, Google Suite
