Job Summary
Conduct heavy civil survey construction layout and data collection for data centers, substations, and BESS facilities. Interpret survey plans, resolve field issues, and direct other HBK field crews in daily operations. Perform complex boundary surveys, scanning projects, and precise horizontal/vertical control networks with 0.02 feet horizontal and 0.01 feet vertical accuracy. Execute advanced SUE field work including pipe and cable locating, GPR collection, and data extraction in urban environments using total stations. Interact daily with clients and contractors on site while making on-site decisions affecting survey accuracy and efficiency. Work nights, weekends, and travel up to 90% of the time in all weather conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Three (3) years of OSP survey experience in with combination of aerial and underground OSP survey
- Ability to travel up to 90% of the time
- Ability to work nights/weekends when required
- Working knowledge of NESC rules
- Datacenter construction experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Attention to jobsite safety
- Working knowledge of OSP construction techniques and placement methods
- Physically capable of moving about on construction sites, public streets and parkways
- Capable of lifting up to 40lbs
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to sit, kneel, and squat on a daily basis
- Hand-eye coordination necessary to operate surveying equipment and measurements
- Work safely outside in all weather conditions year-round
- Frequently work in excavations areas and roadways
- Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, and vibration
- The noise level in the work environment is occasionally moderate to loud
- May be required to work nights or weekends
Desired Qualifications
- UAS Advance - Part 107 FAA drone pilot (HBK UAS Flight Operations Manual Level 1)
- PC knowledge and/or use and Microsoft Office Suite (Word / Excel)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
- Construction experience
- Bachelor's degree
- I.T./S.I. T Certification
- Surveying experience
- Aerial and/or underground OSP construction experience
