Job Summary
Conduct inspections of underground utility systems using specialized equipment, preparing sites and managing traffic controls before and after work. Excavate pilot holes through concrete or asphalt with pneumatic tools, construct or dismantle temporary barricades, and maintain all equipment as needed. Adhere strictly to safety procedures and a Safety-First approach while documenting completed tasks and traveling locally for pump system mobilization. Requires a high school diploma, valid driver's license, general mechanical aptitude, and experience operating heavy industrial equipment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Experience working outdoors in a hands-on, field-based position
- General mechanical aptitude
- Experience operating heavy industrial equipment
- Valid Driver's license
- Ability to meet the assigned company's regulatory insurance requirements for owned autos determined through Motor Vehicle Record Check (MVR)
- Standing and walking for long durations, which could exceed 10 hours in a day
- Using hands and fingers to control, handle and feel objects
- Seeing details of objects from a distance
- Entering confined spaces
- Climbing stairs and walking on uneven terrain
- Squatting and crawling
- Lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds
- Exposure to a shaking object or surface
- Ability to read and comprehend work instructions, correspondences, and memos
- Ability to write correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals
- Ability to interpret and manipulate general computer software programs
- Ability to add and subtract two-digit number and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's
- Ability to perform these operations using unity of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance
- Ability to read a ruler to 1/16"
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one-or two-step instructions
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
