Job Summary
Conduct field and laboratory testing on construction materials including concrete, aggregates, and soils for transportation, commercial, and infrastructure projects. Perform specific tasks such as slump, air content, temperature, and cylinder fabrication while maintaining equipment and accurately documenting results per ASTM, AASHTO, and client specifications. Communicate findings to project managers and stakeholders to ensure materials meet project specifications and industry standards. Requires ACI Aggregate Testing Technician Level 1 and ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I certifications, a valid driver's license, and the ability to lift 75 pounds and travel locally.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum one (1) year of construction materials testing experience or related laboratory experience
- ACI Aggregate Testing Technician - Level 1 Certification
- ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician - Grade I Certification
- Experience performing both field and laboratory testing of aggregates, concrete, soils, or related construction materials
- Ability to accurately collect, record, and report test data
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to travel locally to project sites as needed
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in both laboratory and outdoor construction environments
- Pre-employment drug screen
Desired Qualifications
- TxDOT Level IA Certification
- TxDOT Level IB Certification
- Asphalt testing certifications and experience
- Additional ACI, NICET, or TxDOT certifications
- Two or more years of field and laboratory construction materials testing experience
