Job Summary
Conduct independent field inspections and oversee construction materials testing for infrastructure and commercial projects. Interpret plans and specifications to verify compliance with codes and standards, then document daily activities and test results through detailed field reports. Identify construction deficiencies, communicate findings to project teams, and coordinate inspections with contractors. Maintain and calibrate field testing equipment while ensuring adherence to safety policies. Provide technical guidance to less experienced technicians to support skill development. Operate in outdoor environments with up to 100% travel, including evenings and weekends, requiring a valid driver's license and experience in construction inspection and materials testing.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5+ years of construction inspection, materials testing, or related field experience
- Demonstrated ability to independently perform inspection and testing activities with a high level of accuracy and reliability
- Strong working knowledge of construction practices, materials testing methods, and inspection procedures
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and applicable codes and standards
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and active construction environments
- Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. without requiring visa sponsorship now or in the future
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50-100 pounds
- Must be able to push or pull equipment weighing up to 200 pounds

Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree in construction technology, civil engineering technology, or related field
- Relevant industry certifications such as ACI, NICET, MnDOT, ICC, or similar credentials
- Experience working on transportation, infrastructure, heavy civil, and commercial construction projects
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications and project documentation systems
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with project teams, contractors, and clients
