Job Summary
Field Inspector for the Mass Save program focused on residential energy efficiency. Conducts in-depth inspections of Home Energy Assessments, Weatherization work, and Heat Pump installations, through field visits (in-process and post-completion) and review of installation photo documentation. Travels statewide (typically 4+ homes per weekday) to ensure work meets program standards and delivers a high-quality customer experience. Provides real-time guidance to HPC field crews on scope and implementation, responds to customer concerns, and analyzes project data for program eligibility and effective installation techniques. Produces comprehensive reports for HPCs and Program Administrators. Requires hands-on building science knowledge, BPI BA-P certification, and a valid driver’s license; associates degree or higher or equivalent experience; proficiency with data collection tools; bilingual ability (Spanish/Portuguese) a plus.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive hands-on knowledge of residential building science and Mass Save or similar programs
- BPI Building Analyst Professional (BA-P) certification
- HERS certification preferred
- Experience as Crew Lead, Energy Specialist, or Inspector in the Mass Save program preferred
- Strong communication skills with crews and homeowners; professional with Abode staff and participating contractors
- Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Apps, phone, and tablet-based data collection
- Ability to work independently in field and manage changing schedules
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and suitable auto insurance
- Associate’s degree or higher or relevant experience
- Ability to speak Spanish or Portuguese a plus
Desired Qualifications
- BPI Building Analyst Professional (BA-P)
- HERS certification (preferred)
- Previous experience as Crew Lead, Energy Specialist, or Inspector in Mass Save or similar programs
- Heat Pump experience a plus
- Strong communication, customer service, and data-entry skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Apps and mobile data collection
- Spanish or Portuguese language ability a plus
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Associate’s degree or higher or equivalent knowledge
