Field & Infusion Nurse (LPN) - FLOAT NURSE (Edmonton & St. Albert)

Job Summary

Administer medications (IM, SC, and IV) and support/monitor IV infusion treatments in home or specialty clinic settings across Edmonton and St. Albert. Monitor post-procedures, chart activities per protocols, and provide patient education individually or in groups. Report adverse events and product complaints per Innomar policies while coordinating daily with patients, case managers, and physicians to meet scheduling timelines. Perform administrative duties including monthly clinic audits and supply ordering, and participate in team web-based meetings and specialized trainings. Travel within designated IBUs to meet operational needs and adhere to all nursing standards, safety acts, and training matrices.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years' experience as a Registered Practical Nurse/Licensed Practical Nurse
  • Diploma/University degree in nursing or related field
  • Current registration with provincial licensing body
  • CPR certificate
  • Experience in acute care inpatient/outpatient or homecare setting
  • Cell phone for making and confirming appointments/assignments
  • Knowledge of fax machines
  • Demonstrated excellent customer service skills in dealing with patients, physicians, and multidisciplinary healthcare team
  • Able to work autonomously with little supervision as part of a larger team
  • Able to travel to clinics and homecare appointments within a set geographical boundary
  • Flexibility in order to provide services for pre-scheduled and occasional last minute patient appointment requests
  • Effective organizational skills; attention to detail
  • Able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Able to work in both a team and independent setting
  • Able to travel within a geographical boundary
  • Hold and maintain a valid, non-expired, unrestricted driver's license and insurance coverage
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing, clinical practice, health sciences, public health, healthcare administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience required
  • 4+ years of experience in nursing, clinical services, care coordination, patient support, clinical documentation, or a related field required
  • Professional license or registration in nursing in the applicable jurisdiction of practice required

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with IV therapy is an asset
  • ACLS, PALs, MS and CVAA Certification, and central venous lines/port experience are considered assets
  • Knowledge of Cell phone for making and confirming appointments/assignments and fax machines
  • Certification in clinical services, care coordination, patient safety, or equivalent preferred
  • Certification in case management, clinical documentation improvement, healthcare quality, or equivalent preferred
  • The successful candidate may have daily contacts with unilingual English-speaking customers, patients or peers from cross-functional teams
